افاد مصدر عسكري تنزاني ان تنزانيا قررت ارسال اول كتيبة لها الى اقليم دارفور السوداني في حزيران/يونيو المقبل للعمل في اطار قوة حفظ السلام التابعة للامم المتحدة في تلك المنطقة.
واعلن الجنرال عبدالرحمن شيمبو قائد الجيش التنزاني ان هذه الكتيبة ستتألف من 875 جنديا، وستعمل هناك لمدة سنة قابلة للتجديد.
ويبلغ عديد قوة السلام التي تعمل حاليا في دارفور نحو 15500 جندي وشرطي في حين ان قرار الامم المتحدة لحظ لها 26 الف عنصر.
وباشرت هذه القوة مهماتها في كانون الثاني/يناير 2008.
